One of the staff suggested yesterday that we give posting this report a try. Why not. This is a report of those threads pulled or restored yesterday. This does not include in it threads removed as the result of a returning bannee or troll being nuked.

If there are questions about these, I'll be glad to answer. I am not here 24/7 so don't be impatient if it takes a while for me to reply.

I'll use this opportunity to also talk about the effort that has been being made on the immigration threads to rein in the excesses. Simply put, there have been localized successes and some people have been helping out, but overall I can't say it has been a success. The threads are back to getting so bad that some are being backroomed or pulled, albeit at a lesser rate than before we started this effort. Unfortunately, we are starting to have people ask for their accounts to be deactivated because of the crap.

For those who have been helping, thanks. And I am going to continue for a few more days taking random threads on the topic and going through them to tell people when I think their posts were problematic- maybe we can get to the point where the backrooming of threads can stop totally. But right now if things continue, it is more likely that that will increase, not decrease.

Interesting, I was pinged to a "worthless" thread, does that make me an accomplice?

Give it a rest, Lead Moderator. We know you are out there. No need to get "in our face" about it.

Can you please make a Laz-Moderated category? Some of my funniest comments are the ones you guys moderate away! ;^)

This is a very good idea. It will cut down on a lot of manufactured mystery about why threads get pulled.

And who knew so many people were curious about Dean's wife? Sheesh.

I am glad to see you doing this.
I don't know the necessity of doing it daily or anything,
but I do think it helps to see what is going on, and why.
It is always good to know the boundaries.
Posting this could defuse a lot of the tinfoilers.

Reason not required. Just die.

I was on that thread, and just about died laughing when I saw that explanation.

For those of us who have attempted to post a reply, only to have the thread read "pulled" when you do so, this is a great idea.

My thanks for being considerate.

Reason not required. Just die.

This is probably the best reason listed...

Just a brief word of appreciation for all you do to try and keep the place running smoothly..sometimes your work in trying to police some of the really vile threas reminds me of the scenes from CSI where the investigators have to climb down into the dumpster with the body to look for clues....yours is the virtual equivalent..a lousy job....

The only reason I come to FR is because it is so well moderated. If I wanted trash in the house, I would subscribe to Showtime on cable.

I don't always understand or agree with an action by a moderator, but I do take into consideration that there may be other things going on in the background of which I am not aware.

I appreciate being able to come to a site which is (usually) family friendly.

Will you be building a "Moderated threads" ping list?

If so, may I be the first to request to be pinged?

Thank you

Lead: I think this is a great idea. Most of us know the large job you folks do, this gives us a glimpse into that.

Gotta love the FR jargon ...

This is the funniest thread I've read in a long time ... a veritable resource for pithy comments for use in non-FR applications.
