Can we please, sometime, just once, get a post without all the extra superfluous junk attached ... maybe I just want to read the main post ...

While I can't excuse Shays and the other Republicans for not voting to impeach Clinton, look on the bright side if Clinton had been impeached, Gore would have taken over and been an incumbent in the 2000 race.

"Shays could forgive Slick's 'crimes' while he won't forgive Rowland's 'misdemeanors.'"Christopher Shays gives new meaning to the phrase, "political eunuch."
Wasn't the feety-pajama-ed, cowering-under-the-bed, testicle-challenged Shays also the one warning everyone to stay away from NYC on New Years Eve because he anticipated terrorism taking place?

"Each of the 50 senators, on the other hand, cured the cognitive dissonance problem pre-emptively by making certain not to examine the damning Ford Building evidence in the first place"Bears repeating.
And our thoughts about the U.S. Senate are best articulated by the immortal words of Charlton Heston in his role in 'Planet of the Apes': "Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"

I agree with everything you said.

Me too butI think Rowland should hang tough. He's probably guilty and as such unfit for office but there's something else going on here. He should be impeached and , it is hoped, convicted and thrown out. In the process he will get a chance to question his accusers. The kind of corruption he's involved in was not invented or started by John Rowland. Those who are rushing him to resign don't want an open and full investigation because their hands may not be clean. If he quits it's all shoved under the rug and I'll be Blumenthal pushes the feds to drop their investigation. If he stays and is impeached we may find many of the rest of the rats. DemocRATS

The main post on this thread is in fact the connection documented by the "superfluous junk." If what "we" want is the original, complete AP article, "we" are in the wrong place.

I'm so tired of people trying to shortcut the constitutional processes.

TOM SCOTT FOR GOVERNOR! Tom's a good man. A bit of a grandstander and self-promoter (so aren't most politicos), but a long time anti-tax man. He essentially spear-headed "Ax the Tax" back in 1991. But he faded soon after he lost in a race against DeLauro for 3rd dist.
He was a radio talk show host out of Milford for a while. What is he doing now? Is your hope a realistic one, or just some wishful thinking?

Great. I hope Rowland follows thru and shows us the entire scope of the corruption, on his way out.

Shays is, and will always be an arrogant elitist putz. That being said, Rowland should resign before Governor Blumenthal gets traction.

Both.
It takes forever to download the threads .. and it's mostly the same stuff that has been posted over and over and over and over again ... it's not uninteresting, just unrelated and unnecessary

Shudder... Blumenthal freaks me out just looking at him, with his plastic hair and face. He's just odd looking. (Let alone his politics).
I'll weigh in now; Rowland is a bum.

This man is a pig as well as a coward. Was in DC a few years ago and watched from the House gallery as he stood with Barney Franks in defense of the hate-crimes bill. The boyfriend almost jumped the railing to get at him.
