Some Latin American leaders accuse America of being heavy-handed. They argue that the United States has neglected social issues, such as raising the standard of living for 200 million people, nearly one-half the region's population, who live in poverty. I don't understand this statement at all. What are they whining about? I assume they're talking about 200 million people who live in the socialist hellholes of Latin America. Why is that our fault, let alone our problem? I truly wish Pres. Bush would take up the challenge and lecture these "leaders" about the inherent effect of corrupt governments, how they repress economic growth and keep their people in poverty.
