I don't think it would work...all of us remember the influx and pandering under Clinton, plus his signing of NAFTA. They'd have a hard time making us believe they've changed their minds on the issue.

You remember and I remember but just give a thought to the americans (50%) that voted for Gore. They would believe any claims that the dems make and the thinking amoung the crowd, assuming there are any, might actually think that prohibiting illegal immigration would be a good idea as long as mouthed by democrats. In any event, how could anyone seriously believe that Kennedy, the appeaser of Castro and Russia, would really want to build more weaponry than Eisenhower or Nixon. But they did and he was elected.
