We could make a whole thread about nothing but dire snack foods from Japan and Latin America. I never knew there were so many ways to make yourself retch.

I nominate 'saladitos' from Mexico as the worst snack ever invented. Dried plums with salt and chili powder.

A Hawaiian friend from grad school gave me one once. Hands down, it was the most God-awful taste sensation EVER.

And here all this time I thought they were a Hawaiian thing.
