Former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun, who is African-American as it Sharpton, defended Dean. "Rev. Sharpton, the fact of the matter is we can always blow up a racial debate and make people mad at each other." In other words "Al, lets save that for the Republicans."
To: neverdem
Bush has visible, high-ranking "blacks and browns" in his administration. Think that matters to Mr. Sharpton? So why is he criticizing Dean?

The Democratic Party under Howard Dean -- the party of diversity. </sarcasm>

When was the last time, a Democrat had an African American as the National Security Advisor or Security of State. Come to think of it, did Clinton even have a black version in his cabinet after Ron Brown passed away?
To: neverdem
Dean also said he would defer any middle class tax cut until he had balanced the budget - something he has previously pledged to do midway through a second term in office. Tax cuts in six years? How courageous.

For all the blab of how Dean is a "straigh-talker" he never could have said the real truth: that in a state which probably has around 500 blacks, there just wasn't anyone qualified enough.
In other words, it looks as though Dean doesn't believe in affirmative action, kind of like Clinton who didn't have any minorities in his inner circle.

(The problem with Dean isn't just that he's insane, it's also that he's a complete liar.)
To: neverdem
Minutes later, Dean returned to the subject, noting that he has the endorsements of more members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus than any other presidential hopeful. They missed Al's killer quip about Dean waving around his endorsments from blacks.
"You only need cosigners if you have no credit".
ZING!

Clinton's cabinet eventually looked more like the Knesset than it looked like America.

Howard Dean reminds me of that M&M commercial in black & white where it says, Help the M&M's find their true colors. I think we should help Howard Dean find his true colors!

"You only need cosigners if you have no credit". ZING! From the mouth of one found guilty of libel, how much credit?
Dean is lucky with enemies like these. Maybe it's his Sister Soljah moment?

the nearly anointed(?) leader for the "party of diversity", had no cabinet poistions with minorities when GWB has several in his cabinet.
Not surprising. the dems are experts at making rules for everbody else and then exempting themselves.

Dean could put this whole race thing to rest if he just joined the Nation of Islam (seems to be working for the Jackson family).

I totally agree. Go Reverend Sharpton! His presence in this race is totally worth it when he draws attention to issues like this.
futureceo31 - Alexis Herman was the Labor Secretary under Clinton.

Re Al's Zinger: "You only need cosigners if you have no credit".
LOL! Say what you will about the ol 'rev' (and I use that term VERY loosely) but he's got a very funny wit! I'd like to see GOP commercials just using Al's quips against the Dem candidate - would win an emmy for humor!.
