I think this O'Neill book is, like most liberal things in recent memory, going to ring false with the American people. I'm sure the DNC will snap up alot of copies to make it look like a bestseller, but more people will look at this as some kind of warped attack on Bush.
Most people, IMHO, even those that didn't vote for Bush, grudgingly agree that he's handled 911 and its aftermath quite well
And with the economy chugging to life his numbers should get even better. His domestic priority is freeing the economy for growth. Maybe another tax cut?
I recall seeing a thread the other day that his last cut was too small: government receipts were too high
Paradoxically, if there are no major attacks or arrests by late summer, the Libs may claim 'the war is won, time to focus on jobs' and look for a footing that way
Ideal scenario would be the discovery of Bin Laden's DNA (a drop or two would suffice) in a smoking pile of embers along about July
My only hope is that Dean keeps talking. He's great.
