Saddened that the trinkets-for-votes trick won't work on the reservations this time.

Saddened that the trinkets-for-votes trick won't work on the reservations this time. I've been wondering about the motivation behind this challenge. It seems unlikely that Giago would start attacking Daschle. I think it may be a friendly challenge, something to get Natives more involved with the election in the primary and make them more motivated to turn out in November.

I can't see that this could help Daschle at all.

They use this shot a lot with Daschle. Also, looks like he just landed from a ufo or has odd rays emanating from his head.

''My basic reason for running is that for the past 50 years, the Indian vote on the Indian reservations has been taken for granted in this state,'' What? With all that Ballot Box Stuffin that went on in 2002? The only thing the Demoncrat took for granted about the Indian vote was that they could manipulate it.

I can't see that this could help Daschle at all. You don't think focusing on the Native vote in the primary resulting in higher Native turnout in November could help Daschle?
William Creel's extortion suggestion may be more likely, but don't think Daschle ain't gonna use every card in his deck to beat Thune.

Short your Daschle stock.
To: JohnnyZ
No. If Giago loses to Daschle in the primary, there should be enough unhappy with Daschle to counteract any supporters. Not only that, many Native Americans are pro-life. Cheryl Red Eagle, one of the few writers whose columns have appeared on the editorial page of Tom Daschle's home town paper, is pro-life and suspicious of those who try to decrease the Indian population by Planned Parenthood-type activism, a veiled anti-Native philosophy.

If Giago loses to Daschle in the primary I think you mean when Giago loses the primary and then endorses and starts campaigning for Daschle, praising him for his dedication to Native issues.

Tim Giago, a publisher of newspapers for American Indians... So the politically correct term isn't "Native Americans" anymore? I can't keep up...
To: Leroy S. Mort
Giago's column was called "Notes from Indian Country."

Time for all good repubs, independents, libertarians, etc. to register as a demoncrap and get out the vote for Tim Giago in the primary.
