[history]
At the midpoint of his four-year term, Gov. Mark R. Warner faces a 60-day legislative session that will likely determine the stamp he'll leave in state annals.
The Democratic governor is pressing the largest tax increase in Virginia history.
It would be no mean accomplishment for Warner to get tax-averse Republicans in the General Assembly to back his plan for balancing a state budget that's short more than $1 billion.

The Democrats control the Senate. Conservatives are in the minority in Virginia's upper house.

People seem to understand that Warner and certain RINO running dog lackies in the legislature never saw a tax they didn't like.
They also understand that the Richmond Times Dispatch has more than it's fair share of Corporatist writers who will do the bidding of their obergrupenfuhrer Warner without question.
Now, where's that state flag, time to run it out, thing says it all!

Sounds like a repeat of the PA budget battle this year. Rendhell and company added over a billion in taxes "for the chilren". After a good raise, I am taking home $80 less a month and paying higher taxes on some purchases. Let's hope VA has a better outcome.

Interested in coming to a RedTableMeeting anytime soon, NittanyLion? It would be nice to have another JoePa fan at the meeting!!
BTW, has anyone seen or heard from helmut113 in the past two months. I think he's flown the coop.

Doesn't it just give you the willies when a Democrat talks about tax reform?
I met some great folks at a Conservative Townhall Meetup in Midlothian last Tuesday. It was their second meeting, the next will be the first Tuesday of February. The group was diverse, intelligent and humorous (sounds like the Red Table crowd, doesn't it?). I'll try to send out some links later this week.
I hope helmut113 will pop up again.
