I'm not a big fan of Harper's magazine by any stretch, but there was an excellent series of essay's " War Of The Worlds, Big World: How Clear Channel programs America by Jeff Sharlet and
Small World: Why one town stays unplugged Bill McKibben"

It's a good read and yes, even though CC promotes some conservatives, they do attack and oppose others. These essays give a great insight into how CC has destroyed the "local" hosts and how they thing the canned programming is the best.
