There's no accounting for taste. Or the decisions of program managers at radio stations.
Goyette just wasn't my cup of tea. But being from the DFW radio market has spoiled me so far as talk show hosts are concerned.

Usually it's more than program managers. clear Channel manages their stations as clusters within sub clusters. They may be locally managed, but someone manages that station within a group. Then they are manageed from a program perspecitve. So the top 40 station in the same building as the talk station may have a different sub management,even though they may share the same general manager. It's all quite confusing.
