I was in the Phoenix market for Spring training immediately before and after the Iraq war got underway.
I recall listening to Goyette while I was there, but I have no recollection of his positions or arguments. Instead, the overriding impression was "overbearing pompous jerk".
Consequently, the station probably had its own reasons for burying him in an overnight slot.

I agree. I got to the point where listening to Charles whine everyday was more than I was willing to listen to.
I would change the station and listen to Hugh Hewitt for some intellegent conversations.
Charles' continuous whinning and griping and negativity was devisive especially in a time when Americans are fighting in a war. It envoked memories of the Vietnam protestors and I'm in no mood for that.
I understand we have freedom of speech in this country and I choose to exercize mine now.
I certainly hope his contract is NOT renewed. Maybe he can find a job on the new democrat whine radio station if and when they get one. I'm sure like the rest of the democrats, he will soon turn people off on that station also.

I guess if he was so terrible, why did they (Clear Channel) choose to showcase him initially, renew his contract that seems to be fairly strong in his favor especially since they are well lawyered)?
