If it's authentic, what's the name of the person who wrote the letter? Her location?

It's impossible to verify the authenticity of this letter without a starting place.

That's true. I'm just going on personal experience. White people tend to get a chilly reception when trying to access these programs. I was on food stamps briefly in '99. I worked 40 hrs a week for minumum wage. My ex and I were not divorced at the time and he refused to pay anything towards taking care of the kids. Until he started paying child support, I relied on food stamps for several months. I'm actually still qualified, but I hate the paperwork and the nasty attitudes one has to put up with to get them.
