First off.. It's not a plan or a Bill, it's not an executive order. It's a proposal for debate with a set of suggestions for congress to debate. This is where you and I can chime in by sending letters and Faxes to our elected Representatives. To call people "Stupid" will not do anything to make things worse.

Think about the options on what to do with this many illegals who either came here to work or take advantage of the system. To think we can deport all of these people is not possible, 8 to 12 million Deportee's would require at least 100,000 buses, and possible 500,000 troops or Nat'l Guardsman to round them up. And then consider what this kind of mass deportation would look like around the world, the liberals would have a field day portraying all of us as Nazi's.

If we arrested each and every illegal right now, all they would get is a free ride to the border and we would see them back tomorrow. To impose a fine for breaking our laws and not allowing them to but in front of Green Card applicants is not Amnesty in my book.

My only demand is that the employers who hire illegals from the day any worker plan is adopted will pay a heavy price for hiring illegals. Take their business assets and sell them, as well as tossing their butts in jail. But the idea that we can simply deport 8 to 12 million illegals is a pipe dream.

If you have flies infesting your home because you have left food on the table. you don't stand at the door with a fly swatter, you put the food away.

I wish people would slow down, count to ten, learn more about the proposal, and then contact their Senators and Reps with their thoughts and concerns. I'll admit I don't know or understand all the details of the President's proposal.

I don't intend to salt my food before tasting it. No one can do my tasting for me. That's my job. Many times in the past, I have over reacted, and been ashamed of my wailing and gnashing of teeth. I'd like to think I've learned some lessons along the way.

UH oh, theres that nazi word again.

Migrants sent home 6.3 billion dollars in 2003. Mexico made 5 billion in tourism for comparison. The key word here is "home".

If we enforced current laws and went after employers and stopped the handouts, we wouldnt need to round them up, bus them and put them in refugee camps. They would go home.

It would be easier to enforce current laws than the guest worker proposal btw.

You are right.. in the best of worlds they would be deported. Firms that hire illegals should be fined or worse and benefits to illegals cut off. Illegals would repatriate themselves.

If you have flies infesting your home because you have left food on the table. you don't stand at the door with a fly swatter, you put the food away.

In your analogy, do you let the flies take up residence?

If we arrested each and every illegal right now, all they would get is a free ride to the border and we would see them back tomorrow. To impose a fine for breaking our laws and not allowing them to but in front of Green Card applicants is not Amnesty in my book.

Sure it is.

President Bush's legalized Illegals would be in front of applicants who weren't admitted, as well as guest worker applicants who weren't admitted. The fine is a fee for services. Bush is playing coyote.

After three years, what happens? Will there be enforcement from this President to insure that overstaying legalized-Illegal "guest workers" return home?

It hardly seems likely, since this President wouldn't enforce our immigration laws against them now, when they're Illegals.

This President hasn't even gotten rid of hundreds of thousands of the Illegals with standing deportation orders inculding 80,000 hardened criminals and 3,800 from known Al Qaeda countries.1 This problem is even worse now than it was shortly after 9/11.2

The promise of later enforcement, should we give in to the Bush Amnesty is, a demonstrable sham, as evidenced by this President's unwillingness to do even the minimal enforcement expected of him now.

After three years as so-called "guest workers," President Bush's legalized-Illegals would only be that much further embedded, and there will be another shrugging of duty under the guise of "compassion." Overstaying guest workers will get their green cards in Stage I of the Bush Amnesty, if Stage I is allowed to happen.
