I don't know if I'd use Northern Ireland as the best example. They've been shooting it out there forever. C'mon admit it that ya don't want to be on the same side as the GUARDIAN!!! I understand what you're saying but they can't be that smart to be fighting in the name of religion that preches against violence.

Religion is, if you will, a red herring. Ulster is the result of ethnic cleansing back before anyone imagined the phrase. The Catholics in the six counties mistakenly know as Ulster (Ulster really has nine counties, its just that six of them happen to be under the thumb of the UK) were essentially told to go "to hell or Connaught" -- iow, get out or die here.
As for agreeing with the Guardian, while I wouldn't wrap fish in it, even a broken clock is right twice a day. If these lads are willing to maim and kill Catholics over the little differences, why should it suprise anyone they would do the same over more obvious ones?
