It's not like it has an image of being a really nice peaceful place where everyone always gets along --- I wonder if these people weren't aware of the violence we've all heard of. It would be the same if Americans moved to Chiapas or North Korea and were surprised and saddened by the reception they might be given, you'd have to wonder why they didn't study up more before the move.
