My wife wanted a unique name for our son. I recommended Adolph. Strangely enough she changed her mind and wanted something more common... Jacob.

There was a woman where I worked who said she was never fond of her name because it was rather unusual but she could tolerate that --- but things got way worse --- her name is Madonna. There are probably good reasons to stick with names which aren't too unique.
