Mama_Bear, once you get here you will never want to leave. The smell of the pluff mud, the fireflies, childrens laughter, the soft southern air, a smile from and for everyone and the graciousness of the people.

We, as well as our children still say yes ma'am/sir and no ma'am/sir, thank you and please. Manners are very important. In a sense you are stepping back in time to a more gracious relaxed ere, yet we are as modern and cosmopolitan as any other large seaport city, perphaps more so because of the international arts, etc.

Oh, the fireflies! I miss the fireflies that I grew up with back east. I don't know why we don't have them here in California. I haven't seen a firefly for over 20 years.

South Carolina sounds just lovely. I will get back there someday. :-)
