I just noted that I would be represented by Martin Frost should he win re-election in the 24th district of Texas in the next election. This can not be!!! Since I've lived here, I have gone from district 6 (Joe Barton - R) to district 26 (Dr. Burgess (formerly Dick Army's district) and now ---- HELP - district 24 (Martin Frost). I see a Terry Waldrup has filed as a Republican to run against Frost.....anyone know anything of Mr Waldrup and can he beat Frost? Certainly in this district Frost must be vulnerable. I suspect that is why he is leading the charge to the USSC to overturn redistricting....Is there a more well known local Republican who is going to file soon? I may have to break my piggy bank and find enough pennies for the filing fee !! Martin Frost must be defeated !!

In my state, the Secretary of State has a candidate list online. You may find info there, maybe a contact number as well you can call to find the information on the candidate.
Frost may very well run in a different district.
* Burgess is the least established of those Frost would likely run against. Barton , Sessions or Marchant in the new 24th are arguably 3 of the most conservative districts in the state (props of course to those in DeLay's Sugarland district). Burgess' new district includes some heavily minority areas that have traditionally turned out large for Frost.
* Frost has around 4 million in his war chest, I doubt Dr. B can get anywhere close to that. Of course, Bush may bring him on stage during a run thru DFW which IMHO would make the money difference fairly moot.
Don't get me wrong, I think Frost is a HUGE long shot in any case, but don't underestimate him. He is known for stellar constituent services (even I'm willing to give him an A there) and can work (ok, con) the "independent" voter pretty well.
However you, my friend, should put down the crack pipe. If you think there's a snowballs chance in hell that Frost would switch to the GOP (or for that matter that they'd want him), it's a sure sign you've had plenty.
