That is very true here in the South. I can remember when every elected office was held by Democrats. The Republicans would lose local elections by a 10 to 1 margin. Growing up, I used to wonder why the Republicans even tried.
I switched parties 17 years ago when I was 22. My whole family, with the exception of my partents, vote Republican now.
