One of my relatives worked in a bar and got paid under the table for years. Of course, when she tried to claim social security, she couldn't because she never paid into it. Doesn't pay in the long run.

Soc. Sec. gives a less that 2% return. If you put away penuts regularly you will do better.

I think what will happen is that the employeers will find a way to use mechanical labor. Perhaps they will buy or lease robots from sony.

Doesn't pay in the long run.

what does not pay ? Social security, working under the table, working at a bar, not saving for retirement, paying into social security, not paying into social security, or all of the above.

Well she could have been investing her under-the-table earnings into the stock market, instead of depending on social security.
