Times that by the 8 million that already here and the millions that will flood across the border in less than a year after this is made into law and you realize how throughly screwed over this country's taxpayers and future have been.

Yep, and the majority will all demand programs and care that they will *never* be able to pay for. The tax payers better get ready.

"Actually I think a major revolt might be a real possiblity in the near-future . ."

This is mid-January. November is nine months away.

IMHO, Bush is in for the awakening of his political life.

And so is the Republican Party.

Now that's funny. And it's how I look right about now.

WHATEVER they are doing now, it is NOT working.

In other words, you don't know a thing about what the problem actually is, you're just going to throw a hissy fit until it's solved to your satisfaction.

If you don't know what the problem is, how will you ever know whether or not it's solved?

Common sense is not a player at the border.

Neither is it in play with you. You're demanding that others take this seriously, and you're unwilling to do so yourself.

Political fortunes are at stake here, including George W. Bush's.

He had better wake up and smell the coffee yesterday morning or he is going to cause a party split like you have never seen.

I thought the issue was the illegal immigration problem, not whether a hypothetical split in the Republican Party happens. Please stay focused.

Answer to your question:

Quit the political mamby-pamby bullshit over worrying about how many votes you are going to lose and get on with solving the border crisis!

Fine. Give a detailed plan for solving the border crisis. THAT was my question. If you are unable to answer it because you are ignorant, that's your problem.

Question: If President Bush had not announced his new illegal immigration initiative until NEXT WEEK, would the ill feelings now causing such slurs as those above be going on right now?

That wasnt a slur. If someone believes that 1,500 Marines can patrol 2,100 miles of border effectively, then he is attributing magical powers to them, which is rather silly.

On thing that bugs me about where I live is that if the police pull over or otherwise dicover an illegal, the cops are legally prohibited from turning them over to INS. They have to let them go.

Outrageous.

It seems to me that if this nonsense were changed, it might help tremendously. Then the illegals could be put on the "Nazi" bus back to Mexico, with a sack lunch, a soda pop, and they might even get to sing some camp fire songs on the way home.

Fine. About all you'd do is encourage illegal aliens to obey traffic laws.

Poohbah. How many FReepers in your opinion are willing to hear the true resolutions to ending the border crisis?

Are they willing to put their money (and their vote) where their mouth is?

These solutions are among the most reasonable, realistic; credible, and effective proposals I've seen anywhere to date:

Fine. You merely repeat Saber's proposals.

How do you propose to actually close the border tightly enough for any of these to actually work?

You convinced me.

The Party is now split.

We'll see.

One thing is for sure: you're forced to pray that Bush loses the election, because he won't owe you a damn thing if he wins.

I seem to remember Pres. Bush was going to be a uniter , not a divider ! LOL !!

He's pretty United with Ted Kennedy, and all the rest of the Socialist in DC. Now he wants to Unite US Coporations with all the cheap slave labor they can afford! What sux is we pick up the tab. I'll be looking hard at the Constitution Party this weekend. Blackbird.

Those of who who view Bush negatively are the minority once again.

There you go, bring in that fuzzy math. 65% against, 21% for Bush's proposal, and the 65% are in the minority. That's quite the FReak show you got going there. Blackbird.

The numbers are against this proposal.

How are the numbers for Bush overall?

The kool-aid thing is old and tired...

So push yourself away from the table and stop drinking it if you find it so old and tired. Blackbird.

>>Fine. About all you'd do is encourage illegal aliens to obey traffic laws.<<

What? I guess I don't understand where you're coming from.

???

I suggested at least a step toward getting illegals out. What could possibly be wrong with what I suggested?

You're free to vote as you wish, of course, but I'm free to find little to respect with regard to your "values" as a right-winger.

Man these threads are great. Another lefty exposing themselves for all to see. Can't seem to find a way to respect the values of the right wing huh? Now, come back and tell everyone what a great Conservative you are. BTW, the only thing found in the middle of the road, is roadkill. Blackbird.

If traffic stops are going to net most of your illegal aliens, then they'll simply adapt their behavior to make it less likely that they will get pulled over.

Nothing. It just won't accomplish very much.

I never said it would net "most" aliens. I just said it would be a step in the right direction.

You seem exceptionally touchy this morning, I'll assume you're angry at something somebody previously said and it's carrying over.

Take care.

Illegal aliens can't vote to begin with...

Ever hear of Motor Voter? This proposal will legitimize these ILLEGALS, and guess what, part in parcel to that will be Driver's License. Defacto voter's, by the hordes. Keep ignoring this at you own peril. Blackbird.
