What a crappy classless article by yet another Philly sportswriter. Does Philly realize why they're hated so much? The Eagle's Message Boards are blasting the article, so don't act so high and mighty by judging all Eagle's fans based on this one idiot. Apparently this author has done stupid things like this in the past just to get some attention.
All that being said, I think the "There is an angel on Brett's side" stuff is as stupid but just on the other end of the spectrum.

You are attempting to compare this drivel to a comment about an "angel on Brett's side"????

If you think it's stupid, attack the sportscaster who said it, not the Favre family.

I agree that the Angel on the Shoulder bit is bad, but Eagles fans had to have a courtroom in the stadium to deal with drunk and fighting fans, and they cheer when opposing players are injured. They booed Santa Claus at a half-time event. They are definitely the unemployed teachers of NFL fans (no class).

I think the "There is an angel on Brett's side" stuff is as stupid but just on the other end of the spectrum. So do I. I have nothing whatsoever against Favre, admire him as a QB, and think the above article is pathetic. But I'm also sick of hearing this angel talk from sportscasters, most of whom probably don't have the foggiest notion as to what an angel even is, nor any understanding of any other God-related issue. Aren't some of them suggesting--in their tongue-in-cheek manner, of course--that Brett's father has "become" an angel? That's the epitome of ignorance.

Agreed, I have been listening to Philly sports radio for the last couple of days and most callers and the on air people think the article is tasteless and immature. It is a very small percentage of Philly fans that behave the way the media portrays them. Of course most people outside of Philly love to knock them because is seems the neat thing to do.
