Did you feel it? That was thousands of dead Cold War Warriors turning over in their graves! No more than the WW2 warriors did when we started our space program. After all, Von Braun wasn't from Idaho. We won the war and appropriated the German's scientists and technology. It was just a little less messy this time around with the Russians.

Did you feel it? That was thousands of dead Cold War Warriors turning over in their graves! Maybe, but the Russians were good at building BIG rocket motors. They had to be, because all their stuff, includiing their H-bombs, were HEAVY, compared to equivalent US designs of a technical generation earlier.
