Sorry, I did three seperate searchs for UHaul, U-Haul and Explorer and got no hits. Can you recommend a better search string so that I avoid this in the future...
Go ahead a pull my thread ASAP
Thanks.

Don't know why anyone would buy an Explorer anyway. Not when you can get a Suburban that's bigger, tows more, gets better gas mileage, and is cheaper. Shoot, even the smaller Tahoe is a better deal.

Ford needs to file a discrimination suit.

The Ford Explorer has had a known rollover problem for years ( recent design upgrades have helped the problem though). Firestone designed a tire for the Ford Explorer which met the design standards which Ford requested for this vehicle. This tire design was to alleviate the rollover problem Ford was experiencing with the Explorer. Firestone warned Ford the potential problems of this new design but Ford ignored these warnings. Firestone, in their quest to keep Ford`s business, went ahead and supplied Ford with these redesigned tires to please Ford`s need to correct the rollover problem. If you look on the drivers door of most older Explorers, you will see the recommended tire inflation ratings for the front and rear tires. These psi ratings are below the tire manufacturers recommended inflation rating. Running a tire below manufacturers specs is not a good idea. This lower pressure leads to increased sidewall flex and heat build up and ultimately to the tires failing prematurely. This occurs mostly at highway speeds. Both companies are to blame for the problem. There is much more to this whole story, but this about sums it up.
