I love his support of the withdrawal from the Kyoto Treaty, International Criminal Court and the ABM Treaty.

JFK was the last time the Democrats actually ran a pro-American candidate for President. I am afraid Ed is a dying breed among the Democrats

President Bush has earned my vote because he has shown the resolve and courage necessary to wage the war against terrorism.

Amen, AMEN, AMEN!!

He GETS it!

THIS is interesting...."I also hope to support the Democratic effort to take back the presidency in 2008, but it is up to the Democratic Party to show that it can be entrusted with our nation's security."

WHEN PIGS FLY. The current crop of wannabe Presidential hopefuls aren't especially promising in that regard.

Thanks for the ping.

But the radicals who dominate the primaries love the red meat that is thrown to them, even when it comes from a mad cow.

Has Hillery declared for President?

Well!

This sure rates a high-five and a head-butt for Hizzhonor! I'm frankly amazed that he would come out with a statement like this, especially since he never showed me that he was a Zell Miller Democrat....

Good news for our side!

I note that he said he is changing his mind because of foreign policy and demo extremism. Nothing about medicare giveaways, CFR, federalizing airport security, the education bill affirmnative action appeasement.

Unless something bizarre happens Bush has this election won already. So, why all the pandering why does he seem so insecure about his re-election? I just don't understand it.

If I remember correctly, Mayor Koch ran simultaneously as a Democrat AND as a Republican. Does anybody else recall this?

Although I don't agree with Koch on most issues, regardless of that, I DO respect him. I don't say this because he says he will vote for Bush in 2004 either.

I also believe he is gay, yet you will NEVER see him flaunting it or embracing homo issues and pushing laws elevating it. This is something else I'd like to see more of - KEEP IT IN THE CLOSET!

"So, why all the pandering why does he seem so insecure about his re-election? I just don't understand it."

I think Rush has it right: Karl Rove has a plan to destroy the Democrat party, and Bush is implementing it well. By capturing every Dem issue with a Liberal Republican implementation, Dems cannot demagogue very well. Since that is their only strategy, Dems howl in the wilderness meaninglessly.

As a conservative, that drives me nuts, because the philosophy of the Republican party has become Liberal. But politically, it is great for Republicans. One party system, here we come.

I think the Republicans are realigning as the party of the center. Democrats will be the howling 20% on the left, and conservatives will be the howling 20% on the right. I sure as heck am howling.

We're stuck this go-around, and Bush knows it, because his defense of Western Civilization trumps every liberal domestic capitulation he makes. We'll vote for him. But dang, this stinks.

This is more evidence that as Dim support for Israel weakens and support for the Palis grows, the Dims are losing their hold on the Jewish vote.

...despite the fact that I do not agree with him on any major domestic issue, from tax policy...

He claims the mantle of JFK, yet opposes tax cuts when JFK championed one of the biggest tax cuts in history.

Even then they would need to use the entire FBI to sit on top of every ballot box in the state. The corrpution ov the party here is beyond belief.

You can add St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, the Rio Grande Valley, and Palm Beach county to that list as well. I'm afraid there aren't going to be enough warm bodies available to keep it fair in any of these places.

I think that it was in 1981 (I've done a bit of research since my earlier posting).

I agree with you, however, this strategy can only work right now. As a long termer its a loser

If the economy were bad and there was no war in effect it would just drive the base away a la Bush senior.

that's what I see GWB as, a copy of his father (a good foreign policy and a mostly lousy domestic one) only a little more lucky.

...I intend to vote...to reelect President Bush...despite the fact that I do not agree with him on any major domestic issue...These issues, however, pale in importance beside the menace of international terrorism, which threatens our very survival as a nation. President Bush has earned my vote because he has shown the resolve and courage necessary to wage the war against terrorism.

Nor have the president's critics stopped him from standing up for American interests. Many of those who oppose the Bush Doctrine also criticize the president's opposition to the Kyoto Protocol, the International Criminal Court and his decision to withdraw the United States from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. These actions, however, are well-grounded.

Former Mayor Koch shows himself to be among those who stand on the post-9/11 side of the political divide. I question how many FReepers stand on the pre- or post-9/11 side. Former Mayor Koch has the political courage to say what should be obvious to all FReepers: None of the current crop of Dem presidential candidates (or even those on the horizon, i.e., Hillary Clinton), can be trusted with our national security in these extremely dangerous times.

When it comes to issues like the President's immigration proposals, fight it in Congress. But when it comes to the presidential election in 2004, we can't possibly risk letting any of the Leftist/Dem dwarfts anywhere near the White House.

Yes, it bears repeating over and over. Too bad it's too long for a tagline.
