Musgrove to move out of Governor's Mansion within days
JACKSON, Miss. - Gov. Ronnie Musgrove says he's moving out of the Gov.'s Mansion at the end of this week.
His last day in office is Jan. 13, when Gov.-elect Haley Barbour will be sworn in.
Barbour, a former Republican National Committee chairman, defeated Democrat Musgrove in the November general election.
Musgrove gave Barbour and Barbour's wife, Marsha, a tour of the Gov.'s Mansion last month.
Musgrove said Tuesday that he has purchased a house in the Jackson area. His teenage children, Jordan and Carmen Rae, live with their mother in Brandon. Ronnie and Melanie Musgrove divorced in 2001, during his second year as governor.

I know he was a conservative Dem in many ways, but I'm still glad he was defeated. One of the greatest concerns with a guy like this is that he would have the opportunity to run for the Senate one day (and maybe win) or have the chance to replace a GOP senator with a Dem (like the next time Trent Lott says something dumb). All in all, the South needs to get past the so-called conservative Dems and realise they're not what they're cracked up to be.

Not to boast or anything, but I'll get to watch the whole thing out of my window at work. There's nothing like the sight of Dems on the run!

You DID remember to set up the "RonnieCam", didn't you?

Man, I really wish I did have a webcam. I would set it up.
Maybe I could take a pic w/ a digital camera from my office window? Would you accept still photos?

Still photos would be fine, but I'd save your camera for Haley who's much easier on the eyes. :)

from my "lofty perch" (ahem...ahem...) it looks like they've closed off part of Capitol St. Some crews appear to be cleaning up the place and setting up some smallish grandstands. I should have a digital camera to snap some pics with this afternoon. I'll see what I can do for y'all.
