I play $5 only when its over 50 million and I have the urge...so I would guess I have played around 7 times last year. Im in the whole...but so are you when you paid $45 to go see a football game...i mean, what VALUE did you walk away with that is physical?

That's a bit different. I just marvel at the people who pump money in week after week. The football analogy works for me - whatever floats your boat. Pursuit of happines and all that!

You don't need to justify playing the lottery. I drop a lot more than $5 in casinos when I go on my annual pilgrimage to the Reno Air Races. It's considered entertainment. Any winning is just icing on the cake.
The people giving you a hard time have apparently never played Bingo, have never made a bet in a casino, never dropped a quarter in a slot machine, never had a friendly poker game, have never bet on a football pool.
Like somebody said in a previous post, if you're spending your food/rent money on the lottery, you're stupid. Otherwise, it's for fun.
