DDT, judiciously applied, does quite a nice job in controlling malaria and other mosquito borne illnesses.

I don't get offended if you want to be removed.
If DDT were such a threat to birds, then perhaps the enviros can explain why their own data indicate that bird populations INCREASED during DDT production and use.

Thanks to Dr. J. Gordon Edwards, Professor Emeritus of Entomology at San Jose State University, for providing this information.
DDT was "most injudiciously" applied during the Fifties. The FedGov (note, NOT private users) distributed HUNDREDS OF TONS of DDT-laced cornmeal from aircraft in an attempt to prevent the spread of the fire ant. Heaven only knows what other/similar programs went on back in those days.
The CORRECT answer was/is not to BAN "DDT", but to limit its usage to those applications where it is/was most advantageous (malaria and termite control).
