On the surface, Katherine Harris seems like a stronger candidate then Mel Martinez. Whoever it turns out to be, the GOP must make every effort to take this Senate seat from the Demlibs. The magic number is 60!

This story is totally incorrect. I have close friends, who I speak with on a daily basis, and work with on a weekly basis, at the highest levels of her organization.
She will NOT run for Senate. She realizes she is an 11 month Congresswoman who would energize every Democratic vote in the state. Her photograph next to Bush's as they campaigned together, as they would have to, would be a red flag every time it ran on TV or in a newspaper.
That would sink the Senate race, and the possibly Presidential race in Florida.... and remember, success in 2004 runs down I-4.
The Prez needs more votes than the Republicans. He needs the undecides, and sorry to say, right now, Katherine drives them away in droves. Give her time, and she can win a Senate race, but in this Presidential year, it is poison for everyone.
This story is wrong. There is no such consideration. It is an old trial balloon story, and is way past time, and completely wrong..... and we should all be very thankful of that.

Until I hear it directly from K. Harris herself, I don't believe Drudge in the least. She's been on Hannity many times and has said many times that she will not run for the Senate in the next election. Unlike the lying Clintons, I believe Ms. Harris when she says she won't run.

They are going to play her testimony in front of the US Civil Rights commission where she basically passed the buck and the blame to her staff and frequently stated her lack of knowledge concerning operations. That may come back to haunt her.... There are better, more qualified, and less divisive candidates available... IMHO...

Seeing her certify the Florida election results in 2000 on TV and without comment was an emotional moment for me. The only sound was the scratching of the pen.

"Texas Senator Kay Hutchison has reportedly advised her republican counterpart to "Go for it!"Thus emphasizing that Kay Bailey is more a RINO than we'd like.
More to the point, could Katherine Harris run for Senate here in TEXAS?
We need a Senator with, how shall I put it? - "Huevos?"
