I would venture to say that the US Is a nation of 260 million immigrants, thought most of them came illegally, and probably quite a few had checkered pasts and were fleeing their own countries to come to the land of opportunity. The differnce is, it could have been 200 years ago or 2 years go but we are still mostly all immigrants...

Oh, and by the way. Your question above about illegal aliens and their health care shows you are a newbie on here.

This is why so many of our health care facilities are going broke! They are using the emergency rooms and hospitals for their emergency and basic care. The law says they cannot be refused simply because they cannot pay and the government will not reimburse the care givers.

And now you know a little more.

Its slightly less then 1-in-5 American's, or 20% of 292 million = 58 foreign born.
