"What in the hell are these idiots thinking? They can't possibly this is going to translate into a lot of votes for the Republican Party. And if they are they are completely nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
It's called, "A BOLD APPROACH".
I disagree with it of course, and for the same reason that you have so very well stated!
But the biggest problem for me is the use of tax payer's funds that are used for the purpose of buying the Hispanic vote.
IT is such a transparent plan that it will not achieve the desired results on either account, and may indeed backfire on GW if it should pass in the congress!

I know, I know, but all four panelists on CNN's "Capital Gang" Saturday said just that -- the immigration proposal is a big win-win for GW Bush. That's what Robert D. Novak, Mark Shields, Margaret Carlson, and Al Hunt all agreed upon. Talk about "beltway elites" being unable to understand the average American. Novak in fact said that he is disturbed that immigration brings out the "worst impulses" in a certain kind of "conservative Republicans."
