I want to stop illegal immigration. Yet, I'd be stupid if I thought we have a ready labor force just itching to take the menial jobs that Mexicans are doing. It's not so, but feel free to convince me otherwise.

Market forces prove the fact that Mexican labor is needed. Otherwise it wouldn't occur.

What we need to do is to control it. Make sure it's not displacing Americans. Remove the incentives to hire illegals.
