Amnisty is a pardon. It wipes away any wrong doing and makes you legal. This is NOT amnisty.Really? This policy certainly "wipes away any wrongdoing" because NOBODY will be deported for having broken our immigration laws. (Any deportations will be the result not of lawbreaking, but failure to find a job.) And the policy certainly "makes you legal" by granting legal status.
Even by your definition, this is a de facto amnesty.

No, it's not. Amnisty is permanent. This is for a 3 year period only and then you have to go home. You can re-apply but you must have a job that fully provides for you. You can only have your family here if you can provide for them financially. BIG difference.

Even by your definition, this is a de facto amnesty.The proposal set forth by the President will have to be debated in Congress. The one Republican bill I saw said there would be a $1500 fine for breaking the immigration law and these people would be put at the back of the line. I don't see how that equates to amnesty.
