I'l wager you $5 bucks he won't run again....look, GOP picks up minimum of 4 seats in the Senate this time, and could be more if Dean's the nominee...the Dem Senate caucus ain't gonna be fun the next two years..it's gonna pull farther to the HARD left...the Ted Kennedy wing...and do nothing but filabuster SC nominations...why would Nelson want to stay there after 06?....

Maybe 'cause he could be Vice President by 2009. Maybe because being Senator is a nice, cushy job. Maybe 'cause he isn't gonna chicken out, doesn't want to be remembered as the guy who gave up without a fight. Maybe 'cause he'll be in the limelight with the renewed focus on NASA. Maybe 'cause he's sitting on $1.5 million in campaign funds three years before the election.
