Folks,

The bothersome thing in these threads is how very quickly they turn into a call for a primary challenge to Bush. That has sabotage from the left written all over it.

Is there any known way to hack the sign up dates for freerepublic membership? That date is what we tend to use to judge legitimacy.

Illegal immigration is not unimportant, but it seems like very small potatos as justification for electing a Democrat to "punish" the GOP for being too centrist. It is not as if Bush announced he would appoint judges and USSC nominees strictly on the basis of them being self proclaimed pro-Choice. It is not as if Bush announced he would unilaterally assign command of all US forces to the UN hierarchy. It is not as if he announced a decision to support the UN asserting authority to directly collect income tax from US citizens.

So, given the perspective, I wonder a great deal about the intensity and how genuine it is. Is infiltration possible? Is this issue at an equivalent place on the totem pole of those items above? Would it not take one of those to keep you home on election day? Wouldn't it be better to work vigorously for Bush while writing your Congressman and asking him to make whatever adjustments you want made to the temporary worker plan?

No, that's a dangerous underestimation of the frustration people feel that our polticians, including President Bush, don't want to do their jobs and enforce our borders and sovereignty.

People draw lines beyond which they can no longer hold their noses for this or that politician. President Bush likes to test those lines, unfortunately.

Look on the bright side: a primary challenge has the potential to be far less troublesome and salutory than a third party challenge in the Fall.

I think I can probably speak for GW here. His words would probably be "BRING IT ON".

What I find bothersome is that I used to think freepers were smart, thoughtful, witty, and funny. These people who actually call for a primary challenge, I view as near idiots. I say that because, it is not going to happen and if it did, it would be an absurd failure.

The absurdity of even thinking it, makes me question their sanity.
