I'm probably in the minority with my thoughts on this thread with my personal thoughts about immigration. However, I don't really see what is wrong with a rough and tumble exchange. Those that call name are usually shown to be the shallow people that they are. Those that can't handle being called names I would categorize in the same way. Let the free market of ideas and debate flourish. No need for either side of this debate to ask Lead Mod to play soloman in this saga.

I agree with you. As a matter of fact, I enjoy a good rough and tumble exchange of ideas now and then. I don't even mind the name calling because that just proves that I've won the debate. The only time anyone resorts to name calling is when they can't defend their position.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Go play in the sandbox with the other children.

yep.
Any limits should be objective and equal for all in debate. If you want to limit worthless debate, limit the amount each individual can write. If the rule says only x amount of characters per day then hey, efficient use of that amount will squeeze out the less important things said. That be what I say. Let the rough and tumble roll, just make em 3minute rounds.
