So, what you're saying is that the certain owner of a golf course in Saugatuck, Michigan is going to suddenly start taking out taxes and social security while at the same time offering a comprehensive benefits package to the dozen or so illegals he has working for him.>>>>>>>>
My same thoughts (if it's been addressed I missed it.) Any *punishment* for the employers who have been working these illegals ??
Wonder if Bush thinks these millions of employers of the illegals are *suddenly* going to start paying a decent wage, benefits, & their end of the taxes ?? If these were 'law-abiding' employers, they wouldn't have been working 'illegals' to begin with.
Without 'secure borders' there will always be 'illegal workers' & employers who will work them (off the books, of course!!)

I have clients who employ illegal aliens. They pay them the same as they pay anyone else. They suspect they are illegal, but they show up with documents that are probably forged, and they have to treat them like everyone else. The employers are between a rock and a hard place. If they start treating Hispanic applicants differently, and demand more proof, or check their ID's more carefully, the EEOC would be on them so fast it would make their heads spin.

Why pay me my wage when you can pay Pedro half as much?
Bring thier lifestyle standards UP TO OURS. Don't force me to LOWER MY STANDARDS.
No one is going to win with this. This is gonna' cause me to really think hard about who I vote for. Immigration is one thing I won't comprimise on.
I was forced out of Michigan because of it, I'm not gonna welcome filth into my life again.
