What ever happened to "Those who forget the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them"? or how about just good ole "What ever happened to self defense after psychotic sand monkeys attack your country just about every year for the past 10 years"? or how about "What ever happened to people protesting the pricks who think mass murder is a hobby"?

Personally, I'll cut Willie some slack. His politics are unreconstructed Great Depression New Deal, Central Texas variety. He's like great aunt Polly, who will never forsake the late, great Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
I've got loads of family who are just as naive -- but they can't write "Hello, Walls", pick a guitar or sing "Whiskey River".
Willie remains one of the five or six greatest American composers -- along with the likes of Stephen Foster, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington and Hank Williams. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over his being a bleedin' heart Democrat...
