The only distinction I'm drawing is that employers must have the right to make stupid decisions in a capitalistic society. And a free society. If employer and employee don't get along, fire 'em. History will judge whether the employer made the right decision or not.
Amen!
Argh. Not yet - I still own some and was waiting for it to climb. :-)
I've done a lot of work for HP and saved the company some very serious money through contracts I've worked on. They love me and I love working for HP. Sometimes I get the feeling HP is too liberal, too familiar (if I may) with the homosexuals, and then one day all that changed.
One of their more flaming homosexuals just couldn't take a hint and didn't understand the meaning of not interested, not at all no matter how much it was stressed. It was getting ridiculous, I mean really, really ridiculous. Because I didn't think management would do anything, I was just about to give the guy a physical not interested, if you catch my drift, but instead I gambled on management who immediately went to human resources.
The homosexual was given some very stern warnings. Still his behavior continued for a year. After some emailed complaints about him visiting me in my cube, I detailed the times and days he could stop by. Due to his regular visits management took another interest and found him in my cube, a couple of weeks later they let him go. It took over a year but it finally happened. I thought HP was fair. It sounds like this guy with the Leviticus quotes pushed it too far as well.
