Attack the facts or admit Tancredo is less than honorable.

The Denver Post ran the story as well.Yes, the Denver Post did print that rumor about Tancredo. Unfortunately for the Denver Post, they couldn't verify their "facts" so it remained a baseless rumor.

The Denver Post ran the story as well.>>>>>>>>
Even this rag only states Tancredo hired "a contractor"........nothing about "him hiring an illegal domestic".
Seems to me the only time even our gov't charges employers, is if they "knowingly" hire illegals.

Attack the facts or admit Tancredo is less than honorable.First you would need to present some facts worth attacking. No rumors, or innuendo, or baseless accusations.

I am sensing "pent up hostility" on this thread.
Don't forget to vote in the new FR amnesty poll.

No rumors, or innuendo, or baseless accusations. I provided links regarding illegal stereo installers, a gun control cave in and a term limit broken promise. No rumor or innuendo.

Didn't we also have a thread about an 'illegal working at the White House' also via a contractor.
Seems like our own gov't isn't *too worried* about employers working illegals, isn't the new nation-wide 'verification hot-line' a *voluntary* tool for employers to use.

Those links you posted have information on them that makes me think we should offer an amnesty to all of the hard working undocumented citizens in this country. You have definitively proved that people who oppose Bush on this are all untrustworthy.

I am often guilty of the same conduct, and so feel free to offer my unsolicitated advice.

sometimes contractors aren't honest ideological purity wont protect you from competition and demise...
The crappy fact is that the construction industry relies on cheap labor...and turns a blind eye to the legality of its participants...trust me...with your complicity...as you happily bid shop down all commers...The average consumer bid shops the crap out us producers...pitting the 'legitimate' against the 'realistic' contractor every freaking day.
Frankly I am sick of the dichotomy...I got burned out of so may contracts cause I actually priced in what 'should be' according to some fantasy...That fantasy being what you Joe Blow will actually paid when compared to the 'other guy' ho blows your price out of the water cause he hires cheap available labor.....Americans vote with thier dough and go for low bidder...you folks consuming arent backing up your bluster with bucks...and bucks and bucks....
Don't go copping some righteous ideological position either...when the rubber meets the road...its about bucks...hogwash on your puritan idealism...
I want my swimming pool for 50k...not the 150k that American labor union wages demand....carp on....
I know...I have run crews....the problem isn't illegal aliens begging for work...its that they are illegal to begin with....
What are you gonna do? Hire a union laborer at 40 bucks a smack to dig out your Juniper stumps?
Don't even try to lie to to me that you would...
Get real folks...we all sit here and bitch about how the Mexican invasion is screwing us...but we all turn a blind eye when the rubber meets the road....
Solution?

Well stated.
To: antaresequity
That was a bit of a ramble....
I have been in construction for 20+ years...though I am out now...
I know how it works...
You...THATS RIGHT YOU...the consumer is a bid shopping machine...you look at ten prices and see the same job...
You always take the lowest price...
Guess what?...that takes us contractors who would love to keep it 'American' and drives us right out of business...
Why?
Cause the SHMOE you went with uses undocumented workers and pays not taxes and insurance on em....
I am sick of this crap...cause its the consumers that have produced it...
And all of you are the consumers....while everyone bitches about the brown invasion...
Hypocrisy at its finest...
I tried like hell to be an honest contractor doing the right thing...but the public acted like capitalist and went for the lowest price....
Funny thing huh?
Its time to exploit Mexico and its cheap labor...and stop bitching about it...
20+ years as a contractor is where I come from...I know how it works...and reality is....I bailed....now I am computer programmer for my own intrests cause the whole thing stinks...
This is a ramble too...but I have first hand knowledge...of both sides of the coin...
