Actually, it's just plain the stupidest thing. Legal immigrants hate illegals with a purple passion. When Prop 187 was up in California, it was mostly white middle class people who voted against it. The Hispanic community supported it wildly (though you couldn't tell from television coverage.)

So, amnesty (and similar programs) doesn't gain the Hispanic vote, the Dem liberals wouldn't vote for Bush anyway, and the illegals don't like to register to vote because they don't like jury summons. (wink) So, who's vote is Bush swaying? The Hispanic vote, away from him.

Where's a moderator so I can get the link to the 'You are an idiot' to send to Bush if this plan comes out like the story implies.
