Joyce Meyer's "Life in the Word" TV show will no longer be aired on the Rev. Larry Rice's KNLC (Channel 24).
Rice said he had told Meyer two weeks ago that he was canceling her Sunday evening program and was considering canceling her weekday show when the ministry notified him Friday that it was pulling off the station.

Powder..patch..ball FIRE!
Rev. Rice is one of the largest property owners in St. Louis buying dilapidated buildings and using them for various purposes, he ran as a independent in 2000 and cost Talent 30k votes in St. Louis that cost him the senate election and he's been cited for unsafe conditions in several of his shelters.
His idea of integrity is whatever he says it is.

I was watching Rod Parsley last night and he has undergone a conversion of sorts. He was sticking hard to the gospel message of Salvation.

Rice also said he had canceled Sunday evening TV contracts with evangelists Kenneth Copeland and Jesse Duplantis, saying their prosperity messages were not "true to our calling and true to what the gospel says." Good, May God bless this man for taking a righteous stand.

I just need to comment on the whole television evangelsim thing. It just seems to me that many television ministries are failing to represent the Jesus people need to find. The lifestyles are distracting, the loud yelling and sweating with lots of white hankies is destracting, the shouting tone in singing worship songs is distracting. In fact, I just wondered today, what would Paul say if he happened upon some of what is considered normal "church" in our day? I just want Jesus without a hype.
To: Holly_P
I don't see integrity. I don't know these Ministers, but I see nothing wrong with God's people being prosperous. If we can't support those trying to do good in this world, like Jim Robinson, for example, what's the alternative? You can bet your last dollar, the devils crowd support their own.

I agree with you. In fact, I believe we are going to see a huge change in what people are willing to call a ministry in the future. The days of hyper-prosperity and lavish lifestyles may have been spent like old wineskins. It will take a great deal of bold courage to stand up to this stuff and pray it out of the precious church of Jesus. God wants to do a new thing but not with old wineskins.
To: Holly_P
The "lavish lifestyle" was already largely in place thanks to her husband, who had a good job before she started her ministry.
I for one have no problem with a minister living well. I think it's a disgrace that many churches give their pastors cruddy little parsonages and so on.
And while Joyce's is not one of the ministries I support financially, I get a tremendous amount from her shows, and she would easily be worth every penny I could give her if I didn't already have other ministry commitments.

You are right, prosperity is a God thing. But our definition of it may be quite different than what God wants us to see it as. Abraham did not leave Ur a poor man, he left as a man of faith, but also as a man of means. Yet, that is not what God counted as important, it was his faith.
I don't think we are called to find a life of wealth, but a life of faith in Christ, laying down our flesh, which demands to be attended to often. Some of what we are seeing on TV sure looks like the flesh wanting to stroked.
To: Letitring
Not sure if you are referring to James Robison ... but he is so tuned to really reaching out and helping people. Not that flashy stuff, just getting people help where they need it.

Prosperity preaching is not in line with the Biblical message.

Blessing comes in many forms, Daniel got his in a lion's den, Joseph got his in a prison cell he did not deserve, Paul got his in prison and from people, Jesus got his on a cross.
To: Letitring
Not the ministers. Kenneth Copeland lives in a mansion in Westworth Village in Fort Worth (alongside the Bass brothers) and has a huge, lavish, opulent office complex in Lake Worth, complete with helipad.
When he bought computers from IBM and I was his salesman, he and his wife always had matching Jaguars, and traded them every year.

No, I was talking about Jim Robinson of Free Republic fame. Leastwise, I hope I have his name correct. I know JR isn't a Preacher, but he is a good guy, trying to bring some light into the World, which is why I support him. I also love this place. :)

The "lavish lifestyle" was already largely in place thanks to her husband, who had a good job before she started her ministry. This woman is milking people, many of them poor, for more than $8,000,000 per MONTH. Her husbands prior income has nothing to do with her wealth. her husband and all her children are on the church payroll. Her adult children have multi million dollar homes too.
