They knew full well those ads were there. If nobody had raised a stink, that ad would probably be in the finals right now. They didn't see anything wrong with it. It was only when the Jewish groups (groups, I suppose they would have normally thought of as allies of a sort) complained that they realized it was ugly.
And MoveOn allowed them to be voted on!
Sorry, THEY control what comes onto their website, and if this panty-wearing Eli didn't remove it within the first five minutes, his story rings hollow.
Just as JimRob and the moderators delete offensive posts here, MoveOn.org could have deleted the ads there.
The question is whether MoveOn.org allows others to use their webspace to post 30-second .mov files without their prior approval as posters at FR can post things without JimRob's prior approval.
I'd find it odd that MoveOn.org would grant others the right to do that but perhaps they do. Maybe they see the ad contest as no different than a bulletin board or forum.
However, if they have control over what gets posted at their site, they should admit that they themselves are at fault for putting the ads on their site instead of playing "blame the victim".
If some automated script allowed people to put up ads on their site without MoveOn.org screening them, I would agree they should not be blamed.
Correction. Unless you believe that every one of the thousands of videos they received were posted on-line, then someone applied a decision making process that allowed these 2 to be posted on-line. The RNC is pointing out what the left obviously posted intentionally. It is not "spin" to point out that the left believes slander is valid political discourse.
