Americans and American politicians in particular, are peculiarly ignorant of world history and foreign cultures, even when they have spent many days there as ambassadors, insulated from the realities of the nations in which they are resident by the walls of an American embassy.

Hispanics are a united group mainly in the perception of ignorant non-hispanics. Each South American nation has its own peculiar culture and its immigrants have their own special interests. They are not necessarily identical.

For some odd reason, President Rove has annointed Vicente Fox with Golden Boy status. Mexico can do no wrong. Mexico must get what it demands, regardless of the costs to our nation.
