No, read carefully. I said it is laughable to DEFEND all of America's assets passively. They can be protected on the other hand, by destroying first what would destroy them. EX: If Al Quaeda and UBL had been destroyed before 9-11, the Trade Center would still be there. So yes, billion dollar-financed invasions of terror-centers around the globe will help protect the homeland.

And what's with the condescension? This is the first time I've ever posted to you, and I did so civilly. It seems you can't see the arrogance for the head.

Apologies for the tone--it was out of line on a combative thread.

AQ would not exist if the CIA had not employed it in Charlie Wilson's War against Afghanistan. First, tar and feather the government officials who screwed up, and then talk about how to go about tying up the loose ends.

Debt financing in international markets has national security implications on its own; two that come to mind is the debt held by China and the potential for oil republics to switch from the dollar to a different currency.
