"Like any conservative would suggest, close the borders, stop letting unemployed Arab males into the country, restore an atmosphere to encourage a well-armed citizenry, de-socialize the big airlines, decentralize the government, fix the monetary situation and tar and feather, well at least fire and strip the pension, of any gubmint employee with 'national security' in their title. "

America's infrastructure is so vast, it is impossible to fully protect. Thousands of power plants, millions of miles of rail and road, dozens of huge international ports with millions of ultra-large shipping containers being serviced every year, hundreds of international airports, countless heavy industrial facilities as well as high-tech information hubs. It is laughably impossible to defend all of our assets against freaks who want them destroyed and us dead. By not going after UBL and Al Quaeda and other terrorist orgs and supporting governments, it is only a matter of time until they would again heavily damage us, and quite simply a death sentence. This situation is clearly one where the ONLY good defense is a strong offense.

So it is laughible to believe the homeland can be protected, but rational and sober to think billion dollar debt financed invasions all around the globe will end 'terrorism'?

LOL, and how's the kool aid?

Stay safe friend...

this is a sad truth i must point out. if we decentraized our government, we would weaken our deffenses as the local governments would either A) not have the funding to do a good job. B) not have tyhe programs to do a good job. or C) instead of a party system, we would get several states forming alliances to vote against other states. im sure its easy to see how that would escalate.

i did not have a problem with the Confederate States when they left the US, and have some shame that the US attacked them anyway. but because of the Civil War, we are now the super-power we've come to be. an eventual good out of it.

if we broke apart now, im not sure that the outcome would be as exculsive to US only. which i could only see in the result of us being carved like a 5000/1 scale model of Berlin.
