20th December 2003. - 40,64 per cent of Montenegrins and 30,01 per cent of Serbs live in Montenegro
According to the unofficial population census results, there are 40,64 per cent of Montenegrins, 30,01 per cent of Serbs, 9,41 per cent of Bosnjaks, 7,09 per cent of Albanians, 4,27 per cent of Muslims, 1,05 per cent of Croats and 0,43 per cent of Romas in Montenegro. This result of population census, conducted from 1 until 15 November in Montenegro, was published by today's Vijesti and it was obtained through the census commissions. As far as the national affiliation is concerned, 4,12 did not identify themselves in the census while there are no data for 1,57 per cent. Number of those who did not want to identify themselves rapidly increased since only 0,15 per cent of citizens did not want to identify themselves in the 1991 census. Comparing to the 1991 census number of citizens that identified themselves as Montenegrin decreased by over 107 thousand while number of those identifying themselves as Serbs increased by over 144 thousand. Cetinje, Niksic, Danilovgrad, Podgorica, Kolasin and Mojkovac are the cities in which Montenegrins make more then half of all the citizens. There are 90,28 per cent of Montenegrins in Cetinje, 67,93 per cent in Danilovgrad, 62,5 per cent in NIksic, 54,94 in Podgorica, 54,77 in Mojkovac and 50,35 per cent in Kolasin. According to 1991 census there was over 9,5 thousand Serbs in Pljevlja and there are more then 21,5 thousand now. It is almost the same in Berane while number of those who identified them as Serbs in Savnik was 490 it has now increased by almost a thousand. Number of Serbs in Pluzine increased from 348 to over 2,5 thousand. Monstat announced that it would present the official final results and data on language on Monday, 22 December. MINA
