I can see it if they do it right. Maybe post a job for Americans first --- loading bales of alfalfa onto trucks or picking chilis --- $5.15 an hour, standard job benefits. Americans first? Right. Illegals are suing in American courts to break American laws.....you'll recall the stories posted on FR about illegals demanding not only entrance to college but in-state tuition as well.
Imagine who will show up at Home Depot when the "Americans first" job announcements go up on the employment board.
Hint: ACLU

The only thing I see could be the possibility of a different kind of status a foreign guest worker --- and that would be the accepted term --- no "undocumented US residents" that has become too common.
I guess we'll see soon --- if this is just some proposals to certain changes in the law --- and not a blanket amnesty like what happened in the 1980s with unbelievable fraud --- it might not be a disaster --- I think some changes should be made in the law.
For example --- end "family reunification" that allows family members to sponsor a relative and then fail to provide all their financial support. Around here you see many elderly "legals" coming over who get SSDI, food stamps, Medicaid, HUD --- but a working type with no family might actually be able to hold a job and be self reliant but has no way to get over legally. I wouldn't mind making a trade --- decrease legal immigration of those who can't work or can work only marginally and increase it for those who can.

What I want to know is: where is ICE and why aren't they deporting them?
