My son is a construction superintendent in California and hires a lot of immigrants. The government inspectors check the documentation of his crew quite often. The size of crew fluctuates and there is a high turnover,and the job sites change. He does his best to avoid hiring illegals but it is hard to verify their documentation and he has been fined a few times. The government inspectors are doing the best they can.
